c.1790-1800 Dish Top Candlestand
Black Paint - New England
Cherry candlestand, graceful
snake-headed foot, urn shaped post, round dish top, legs typically
dovetailed into the post from the bottom and held by iron brace. Early
black paint over original red (seen at cleat). Wonderful crusty surface
and irregular round molded top set this charmer apart. Execellent
condition - minor paint rubs to post. Private collection.
