American folk art painting of the paddlewheel steamer 'Capitol
City'. In 1871 the Missouri River Packet Company built the 'Capitol
City' which made regular trips to Kansas City, Memphis and Helena. Oil
on wood panel with breadboard ends, early narrow brown wood frame with
gilt liner. Minor paint rubs to panel, wood loss to frame.
Measurement: 38 1/4 x 23 1/4 framed; 35 3/4 x 20 3/4 sight.
