A wonderful early portrait of a
young man, oil on canvas, in a fabulous deep ogee frame with aligatored
surface. Painting and frame are in original untouched condition.
There is flaking to the paint, mostly to the outer edges and to a lesser
degree to the face. Stretcher outline to the canvas. Original rosehead
nailed stretcher. Original hardwood frame with aligatored Spanish Brown
painted surface. The 2" deep frame is as good as the painting! Two
original brass hanging hooks with wire. A charming folk portrait in
totally original condition.
Measurement: 8.5 x 10.5 sight;
14.25 x 16.25 framed.
