19th C. Ceramic Portrait Bust
, Mid to late 19th
C. ceramic portrait bust. Well-sculpted features with a dreamy look in
the subject's eyes gazing heavenward, perhaps a poet or a priest. The
clay, a natural buff color, is in good condition - a few very small
chips in his hair, scattered light scratches, a chip on the base of the
back. A couple of tight shrinkage cracks, one beneath his chin and the
other below his left ear.
Measurement: approx. 8" h x 6" w at collar x 5.5" deep.
